Maintenance¶
CAUTION Regular maintenance of cryogenic components is essential to ensure optimal system performance and prevent sudden failures. Significant delay of maintenance could lead to permanent system damage. Continuous system operation leads to wear of specific components, necessitating maintenance at defined intervals. According to the official maintenance guidelines provided by the OEM, the cold head should be serviced after every 10,000 hours of operation, while the helium compressor requires maintenance every 30,000 hours. The systems total operating hours can be monitored at any time by referring to the digital display located on the front panel of the helium compressor. Note that this method of tracking cold head operation time is only accurate if the cold head has always been operated with the same compressor. Cold head maintenance requires assistance from a Single Quantum or Sumitomo Cryogenics engineer. This service involves replacing all moving parts of the cold head, though it does not require any interaction with the vacuum (detector) volume. In contrast, compressor maintenance can be performed by the system user, provided they have the necessary spare parts and instructions, both of which can be supplied by Single Quantum. In order to schedule system maintenance, please contact the Service team.
Single Quantum is certified to perform maintenance on all cryogenic components. Maintenance can be carried out at the customer’s site, reducing system downtime to approximately 1.5 days. Please contact our Sales or Service team for further information.
